June 01 Time Is A melon”It was a shortcut..
a shortcut to what?...
Mushrooms!
Well hello hello there everybody, it's been a pretty long time since my last blog...gotta be a couple of months by now at least, right? Don't worry I didn't abandon this blog, its just that I didn't really have much to talk about. Live has been pretty much the same stuff day in and day out, not to sa that I wasn't enjoying it, just that I doubt anyone would find it to be much of a good reading. So without further adieu (is that how you spell it?)
I meant to write this sooner...but I guess better late than never right? 2 weeks ago was the Japanese festival in Box Hill. It was awesome, although qute a disappointment from last year. Just looking at the brochure revealed that they'd lost sponsors or something becasue last year it was a glossy full colour booklet, this time a shotty A3 black and white photocopy. There wasn't as much stuff available as there was last time, but I did mangage to buy a new kimono (so thats 2 I have now...yeah I'm crazy). A few other things but I'll tell you about that another time. The food there was still just as good as lat time! Takoyaki and Yakisoba! Ahhh so so yummy...やきそば・と・たこやき・わ・だいすけです
The big news I have for you though...I got accepted into mid-year entry for Illustration! That means I get to shave half a year off my 3 year course, So I'm finally going back into study after so long off it. I'm really excited about it, it's at the NMIT in Fairfield by the way. One thing I was surprised about, I'm going to be the youngest person in the course. Theres only going to be about 16 people in the course, so that'll ensure a nice close working atmosphere similiar to my TAFE course in 2006. One problem I had with uni was that way there just seems to be a never ending number of people doing the same thing you are, kinda makes you feel lost in a sea of students. Being in small area of people I feel that I can be more comfortable in getting to know people and everyone will be a freindly face, or at least thats how I hope it will be. So in 2 and half years I'll be a bachelor of illustration...I'll be Richard Ellis BA, has a good ring to it don't you think? *laughs*
So thats what I've got to tell everybody, hope it was worth your while.
If you don't know where the quote's from, you should! *smiles*
Catch you next time!
じゃあ・ね!

February 15 "To stay for a ill conceived amount of time""Naki-wo misereba, mata nakasareru.
On'na, on'na, On'na namida no... urami-bushi." Hello there everybody...probably been quite while since my last blog entry, So I thought I'd grace you with a new one finally. I'd like to say I've been up to a lot lately but, that'd be a lie. I usually leave out many of the samll happenings and today will be no exception.
Aside from drawing and watching anime, I haven't got up to much else. I've been spanding a lot of time with a friend I made at Nina's anime shop: Rachel shes an awesome person who I clicked with almost immediately. This hasn't happened in a very long time, usually I have a lot of trouble meeting and talking to new people. That said I was still very shy and my face was probably quite red most of the time. ^///^ I see a long lasting and great friendship with her.
On sunday last week I had a look at the Chinese new year celebrations. Happy year of the rat to all! I bought interesting things, like little buddahs and a paper umbrella, unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try any really interesting food. Seeing the parade was pretty awesome, (see photos) apart from being squished like I wouldn't believe. Every part of my body was touched by somebody elses every part of their body! It wasn't nicely organised either. (The event was held in Chinatown) The whole street was packed with people which then had to move to either side of the street to make room for a dragon coming through. So I also experienced being pushed along with the crowd, as I got separated from Victoria. Luckily Vicky and I managed to find each other again with little trouble.
For the next week or so mum and dad wll be on holiday in NSW so we have the house to ourselves. I thought this would be quite fun and for the most part it has, but theres been a lot of problems too, which I won't go into here.
I've been listening to a lot of Japanese folk music lately, like Begin and Natsukawa Rimi, If you're into more traditional Japanese music have a listen to these 2 I reckon you won't be disappointed ^_^
Ahh almost forgot. We've had an invasion!!! Bees have invaded our compot bin (theres a photo from the outside of the bin). Apparently when dad flicked the lid off theres a full on honeycomb nest inside! So word of advice...don't go near the compost bin!
todays musical note is from Urami Bushi by Kaji Meiko, popularised by Kill Bill, an awesome song
Well thats about it from me, as always I'll leave you with my usual phrase
Well thats it from us we'll catch you next time at the movies.
じゃあ・ねえ!!
*hugs*

January 03 And so a new year has dawned upon us" 夢がそっと 告げていたよ"
Firstly... あけまして・おめでとう。or Happy new year for the people who don't know it in Japanese. ^_^ I hope you all had a great time and that nobody got too drunk. I had a very nice evening with my family, especially watching my mum, dad and grandmother tipsy, which is always a pleasure to see.
I've still no luck finding a job yet, Rachael said I'd be good in some kind of fashion store, I'm not too sure how helpful I'd be, but I'll take her word for it. One of my coolest xmas presents was a full lenth easel, so now I can start chruning out large works of art again. If I hadn't told you already, I quit my Graphic Design course at Swinburne. It really wasn't working for me, I guess design has also been something I've been good at, but not really my passion. I love to draw and was surprised how much of the year I didn't spend drawing. So I decided instead to go into a diploma of illustration at fairfield NMIT. Though the problem was that I made this decision too late and missed the date for interviews, so now I'm in limbo till next year, which is why I'm trying to find a job. I spose the reason I did this so late is that I felt really depressed and disappointd in myself that chose the wrong course, wasting time, money and effort all for nothing.
Well apart from the obvious stuff which I always spout in these blog entries, I guess there really isn't much to report as usual, as always there's some new works in the artwork albums, (including two really cute photos of Dargo in the family photos) so be sure to check them out.
Oh. I saw AVP2 last week, if you liked the other AVP definately see this movie, because in my opinion it's much more awesome.
Todays musical note (hah, yes I'm making that pun again) is from Dreams which is the second ending to darker than black, an anime which I havent seen, but the song is very sweet ^_^
Well that's it from me, see you next time on that other planet you know as Earth. December 06 It's been a long time comingWow it sure has been a really big time in-between my last entry, I guess not a lot has happened over the last 6 months I would've struggled trying to come with something to write. Oh well here goes, hopefully you'll get something out of it.
Well I'll start with the biggest news first. I've quite my course, (communication design) it really wasn't getting me anywhere and I hated the way drawing didn't seem to be required. If you know me, you'll know that I love to draw and being in a course where some people can't meant I wasn't able to put my skills to use, besides graphic design is more of a secondary love to me. I always loved character design and oter things like it better, where imagination is key. So to improve my skills so I have a chance to make it somewhere in the world I'll be doing an illustration diploma. Unfortunately though, I missed the date for interviews, so I can't enroll in 2008. Instead I'm going to working for most of 2008 and enroll in 2009. It's also my hope that having a job will engage me with people and maybe finally break me out of shyness that is oh so annoying.
I went to Brooke's birthday party a few weeks ago. I feel really good that she took the first big step into repairing our friendship. I've always wondered after some time where I stood with her, if she hated me or not and it always left me feeling arkward around her. It's good to know I can be me around her again. ^_^
So apart from that I guess I reallly don't have a lot else to say, I really should have a gathering of sorts over the holidays.
Oh and anyone interested, there should be a fair amount of new artwork in all my directories so make sure you take a look, as well as some new photos of me. Please have a look at my first ever manga page, hopefully you'll like it, thats in manga (not to be confused with artwork: manga) =^.^=
Merry Christmas all!
*hugs*
-Richie June 21 so now let us...PAAARRTYYYYYY DOWN!"Try to stay alive
Until I hear your voice" It almost seems pointless writing this now, but oh well. I had my birthday party almost a month ago, so I'm here now to tell you about this event. ^_^
It began is an event of small numbers and slowly grew to epic proportions of 15 people, or so! ^_^ truthfully I had a awesome night and I thank everyone who came from the bottom of my heart (arg someone left the light on down here! THis is gonna cost me...). Thankyou also for the wonderfully thoughtfull gifts you gave me. Although I copped some crap from a few people, I had alot of fun dressing up for the party. As the hosts Victoria and I wore our Japanese yukata (see previous blog entry) for the party. Twas so very awesome! Check out the photos!
on to other news now, I've finally got some manga started, So hopefully by the end of the holidays I'll have something good to show all of you!
The only thing I'll give you at the moment is that Victoria is helping me write it and it will satiring (is that right?) Hollywood movie conventions. As I delve more into anime I realise how much the same every Hollywood movie is. To be nice I won't pick on any exact movies.
Today's musical note (hah pun intended) is from Dream Theater's endless sacrifice. Their new CD came out and they still rock just as much whoo!
well Uh thats about it from us, we'll see you next time at the movies! (or the petting zoo if you prefer)
hugs!

June 02 Voice of mountain ^_^"I’ve been walking around for days
Trying to make the pieces fit" Hey everybody! How's every little thing? I have a lot to update on since it's been a bit since I last posted a blog. I think I'll start with the most happiest news...Its over! I just finished the first semester at university, so that means I'm 1/6 of the way to getting my degree hehe. Damn the last week has been quite hard, so many few hours of sleep days. Though its all done and I feel pretty good with the results. I really should make a new folder for artwork from swinbunre, I'll get round to it I'm sure.
Last weekend was the Japanese festival in Box Hill, it was so awesome! There were heaps of great foods and many other wonderous things. My favourite foods are takoyaki and yakisoba...Umaiiii! ^_^ I also picked up some other cool things, 2 small wooblock prints, a kakeshi doll, heaps of really cheap mags and the most awesome of all..a real yukata! I've wanted one for oh so long! A yukata is like a kimono except it's only one layer of cotton rather than several layers of silks and others, so it was pretty cheap. I've posted a photo where the other pictures of me are.
And I'm having my 21st party tomorrow (even though my actual birthday was on the 24th of April) I hope it'll be a lot of fun, one thing that will make it interesting is what I'm wearing (I've mentioned it in this entry =^.^= Nya)
Today's quote is from the butterfly effect's 'Phoenix'....such a very awesome song!
Well thats about it, I look forward to seeing everybody tomorrow!
*hugs*
-Love Richie April 30 It has existed in this state for 21 years ^_^"I make a wish, that the next time I open my eyes...I will see a different view"
Well as usual not much has been happening in my little world. Thiugh if you'd care to step inside, I'll show to the room in which houses the measure of time between blog entries. This paticular room holds an important date for me...the date of my birth!
hehe sorry I was being so silly, hopefully you found it at least slighty interesting. Oh well... So it was my birthday, I got some really cool shirts and a damn awesome jacket. Although the day also kinda sucked becasue I had university until 5pm. Though dinner really made up for that. Mexican followed by death by chocolate dessert (also from the mexican restaurant). mmm so good! Although I felt a little of sick from rating so much food
Oh still not concrete news on when I'll be having a party but I'm making sure I get 3 weeks notice from people so they make sure they can come, last year only something like half the people showed up that were supposed to and I don't want a repeat of that.
In about 4 weeks I've got 10 weeks of holidays coming up so if you'd love to spend some time with yours truly I'll be waiting
I just finished watching a really sad anime series called Kanon. It fits into my self-named genre of "Beautiful Tragedy." It's just a beautiful series that makes me long for something special. I cried many times throughout the series. The allure of something that makes you cry is a very new concept to me and one that I haven't been able to grasp. Why is feeling sad make something good to watch? I'll certainly be pondering this alot
So I've got some more drawings posted and if you want to check them out please go ahead and tell me what you think. I'm happy to even take bad comments if you are so inclined.
mmm what else? Oh I have a love of shirts now...So next time you see me I might be wearing a spiffy shirt rather than a band tee! haha I just love using the word spiffy.
today's quote is from Kanon's second episode.
I go now, not to bid you goodbye but....to hope that we meet can meet again
*super special 21 year-old hugs!!*
